The 4 steps of the civic integration programme

1.

Getting to know Belgium

Learn about the habits, rights and obligations in Belgium and Flanders during social orientation lessons. This course can be taught in your own language or a language that you speak or understand well.

2.

Learning Dutch

Amal will enroll you in a Dutch course in Ghent. You will also be able to practice Dutch during an internship or volunteer work.

3.

Find a training or job

You don't have a job yet? Do you want a different job? Or do you want to study? Amal will help you find a training or job with the support of VDAB (Flemish Public Employment Service). We will listen to your ambitions and skills.

4.

Participate in social activities

You will be able to meet people and practice Dutch outside the classroom. This is called the participation programme. You can choose from various activities together with your programme counsellor.

The classes are in a language you understand well.

I definitely recommend the integration programme for newcomers. The classes and the individual guidance are in a language you understand well. That’s great for people who don’t speak Dutch yet.
