You don't have a job yet?
You don't have a job yet? Or do you have a job, but would you like to have a different job? Discuss your ambitions and skills with Amal. Having a job will help you feel at home in Ghent. A job can give you stability and independence. During your civic integration programme, you register with VDAB. This is the Flemish Employment Service.
Civic integration can help you find a job
- During your civic integration programme, you register with VDAB (Flemish Employment Service). VDAB (Flemish Employment Service) provides guidance to people looking for work. VDAB (Flemish Employment Service) also provides training to find a job. VDAB (Flemish Employment Service) and Amal will work together to find the best way for you to find a job.
- Your programme counsellor will refer you to the appropriate organisations.
- You will learn Dutch during the civic integration programme. Dutch is important to find work.
Note: You have to register with VDAB (Flemish Employment Service) within 2 months after signing your civic integration contract.

Jobteam
With the support of Flanders and the European Social Fund, Amal is a partner of the Jobteam project.
Jobteam helps people in difficult situations find their way to employment. Every resident of Ghent should have the opportunity to take steps towards the labour market, even if they still need support to find their place in society.
